About the event
BPS is excited to present an 3-week experiential workshop facilitated by Rob Heffernan, a long-time practitioner of Buddhist Dharma. A Shamanic Breathwork session is included in the final session.
So often, those who use psychedelics for insight and healing are in search of a shared vision and body of wisdom to illuminate the psychedelic experience. Buddhist Dharma is such a body of wisdom. Rooted in ancient and experiential practices, it provides a path synergistic with psychedelic practice.
Together over three weeks, we will:
- Explore how Buddhist-based inquiry can help guide, navigate and orient psychedelic experience in a way that has a practical effect in our day to day lives
- Engage in active discussions and experiential exercises
- Learn core practices and concepts in Buddhist Dharma and their relation to psychedelic medicine
- Come away with knowledge of Buddhist philosophy and psychedelic history
Each session will have substantial time for Q&A and discussion. Participants will hear real examples of how practitioners directly integrate dharma and sacred medicine, as well as participate in exercises to help facilitate this work. The emphasis will be on how to actually apply dharmic tools, techniques and modes of inquiry during psychedelic experiences and as a means of preparation and integration.
Lastly, we will conclude our time by engaging in Shamanic Breathwork! This is an opportunity to practice together what we have explored in the workshop.
For a full breakdown of the three sessions, please see this schedule.
Our hope is that these practices will support us in opening to and enacting compassion, discernment, wisdom, joy, and other wholesome qualities, within us and with our family, friends, communities and the living planet. Join us as we learn to embody these ideas and tools as living insights and behaviors in our daily lives!
